What We Just Did

So, another promise day at Madonna House! Three shiny new staff workers with three shiny new crosses, two more 'finalists' radiantly laying down their lives for God and neighbor, and eleven others 'on the road', making temporary renewals.
At the offertory, a group which included some of the family of our Belgian final promiser Jocko D'Ursel along with staff from our house in Belgium sang a most beautiful hymn in French that summarized everything for me. It was entitled Je n'ai d'autre desir, and here is my translation of the words:

I want nothing but to belong to you
to be yours forever, given over to love
I want nothing but to belong to you

I have no help but to be reborn to Love
and to abandon my life to the breath of the Spirit
I have no help but to be reborn to Love.

I have no hope but to offer myself in silence
to offer myself daily to the gift of your Love
I have no hope but to offer myself in silence.

I have no reason to be but the love of your name
My happiness: to live and to follow you, Jesus
I have no reason to be but the love of your name.

So that's what we did today, here, what hopefully we try to do every day here, and what I hope you all try to do every day, too, because only in that lies happiness, joy, beauty and peace.

  2. Gees.

Thank you for you love and prayers from that holy place... I thought of you all when I prayed this morning...the world seems now a little softer, more gentle than it did yesterday...
