A holy person told me once that a 'true friend loves my eternal destiny while accompanying me on the cross'. Loving is painful.

It is true , if we really really believe someone is in a grave state of sin, we need to love them the best we can into right relationship. In doing so, too often we enble or tolerate instead of admonish.

But it is really about love isn't it? Like disciplining a child- when done out of love for them for their improvemnt, then its a very good thing. When it is motivated by frustration, anger, or perhaps a sense of our own morality... or some other negative emotion then it is a very bad thing. Often our motives are mixed.

We must always strive to purify out motivtions and to be patient and so loving in the execution. Peacefully trusting the outcome to God - giving Jesus room to work without unnecessary stumbling blocks.

Much more can be said about this. It is a work of charity, of love.Catherinenoreply@blogger.com
