The reason why I linked to liberal sites is that I wanted to offer a glimpse at the other side of this story. Surely looking at all the facts available is a means of finding truth. I have tried to do so at other websites, but for the most part I have given up. Since I never posted here before, I thought I would try to contribute to the discussion.

Maybe there's more to the story then what I've seen from you or Media Matters. I try to hunt and peck to find truth. I intend to continue to do so.

In the meantime, I'd like to offer up two more pages.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/24/irs-progressive-groups_n_3492679.html

http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/what-irs-scandal

Thank you.Brianhttp://www.yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6668594987436792920.post-21211966732708267362013-06-28T14:06:30.294-04:002013-06-28T14:06:30.294-04:00Thanks, those who have posted links to such trustw...Thanks, those who have posted links to such trustworthy sites as Little Green Footballs and Media Matters! Always good to have such clear unbiased sources weigh in on this stuff... I stand by the facts as I have understood them to be, and my post and its argument stands, as far as I am concerned. As Father notes, this is a serious issue but once again it is becoming a non-issue because the MSM in the US has become nothing but a propaganda tool for the Administration.
http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jun/27/irs-auditor-reaffirms-conservatives-not-liberals-w/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6668594987436792920.post-51328667953979134942013-06-18T13:58:24.482-04:002013-06-18T13:58:24.482-04:00Did I use the word persecution? I don't think Christians are supposed to roll over supinely in abject obesiance to Caesar, are they? I will check out the Sullivan piece, though.
I would point out that one pro-life group was told they could not protest at, specifically, Planned Parenthood, another was told they couldn't 'force' their beliefs on others, and a third group was asked 'what is the content of your prayers.' And let's not forget the blatantly illegal leaking of an anti-same sex marriage groups list of donors to the group who was their principal opponent, who then targeted said donors for harassment.
The question is not 'were no other groups ever flagged', but was there a concerted effort to flag groups based on ideological markers that displease the current administration. I think there is quite a bit of evidence to that end, and much of it has been acknowledged as true and admitted as wrong by the IRS and the admin. Fr. Both could be equally culpable for different reasons.

But generally, I think you have a weak argument here for persecution...and not a very Christian one.
